The US EPA has scheduled two public hearings on the Miscellaneous Organic Chemical Manufacturing proposed rule -- which properly applies IRIS to recognize the cancer risk is unacceptable but then refers to the TCEQ draft value, ACC RIC, and "uncertainties" in the IRIS value as part of its justification for refusing to require "ample margin of safety to protect public health." Hearings will be in Houston on January 14, and DC on January 16. Written comments are due by February 18, 2020.
